ABOUT BLACK MEN OF SOUTH CAROLINA

Committed men becoming part of the solution.

Black Men of South Carolina (BMOSC) is a statewide movement dedicated to bringing Black men together to strengthen families, mentor youth, serve our communities, promote economic empowerment, and inspire positive change across South Carolina. The organization encourages Black men to lead through service, responsibility, unity, and action while building safer neighborhoods and stronger communities.

We believe that lasting change begins with committed men who are willing to invest their time, talents, and leadership into the lives of others. Our members work together to mentor young people, support Black-owned businesses, encourage civic engagement, assist seniors, strengthen families, and partner with churches, community organizations, educators, and law enforcement to improve the quality of life throughout our state.

Our mission is not simply to identify challenges—it is to become part of the solution. Through volunteer service, leadership development, education, and community outreach, BMOSC seeks to create opportunities that help individuals, families, and neighborhoods thrive.

Our Mission

The mission of Black Men of South Carolina is to unite, empower, and mobilize Black men throughout the state to become active leaders, mentors, protectors, providers, and positive role models within their families and communities.

Through service, leadership development, youth mentorship, economic empowerment, civic responsibility, voting participation, and meaningful community engagement, we are committed to addressing the challenges affecting our neighborhoods and creating lasting solutions. We encourage Black men to register to vote, become informed about important issues, participate in local, state, and national elections, and inspire others to exercise their right to vote.

We also encourage Black men to support Black-owned businesses, mentor young people, care for seniors, assist families in need, promote education and career development, and work alongside community partners to reduce crime and violence.

By bringing Black men together across generations, professions, faiths, and communities, we seek to restore hope, strengthen families, create safer neighborhoods, expand economic opportunities, increase civic participation, and develop the next generation of responsible leaders. Working together as one united brotherhood, we are building a stronger South Carolina and a brighter future for generations to come.
