COMMUNITY SAFETY

Report a Crime

Your Information Could Help Save a Life, Solve a Crime, or Make a Community Safer.

REPORT A CRIME

Your information could help save a life, solve a crime, or make a community safer.

At Black Men of South Carolina (BMOSC), we believe safer communities require all of us to play a part. When people remain silent about serious criminal activity, those responsible are often free to continue hurting our families and communities.

If you have information about a crime, suspicious activity, illegal activity, or an ongoing safety concern, we encourage you to speak up.

You do not have to investigate. You do not have to confront anyone. Simply tell us what you know.

Community safety and neighborhood support

SEE SOMETHING. KNOW SOMETHING. SAY SOMETHING.

One piece of information may matter.

You may have seen something that seemed insignificant at the time. You may know a nickname, recognize a vehicle, have surveillance-camera footage, know where someone can be located, or have information about activity occurring in your neighborhood. That information could be important.

ANONYMOUS REPORTING

You may report information anonymously.

We understand that some people may be concerned about retaliation or simply do not want to identify themselves.

The form allows you to choose whether you want to remain anonymous or provide your contact information for possible follow-up.

If you choose to provide your identity, please understand that BMOSC cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality in every circumstance. Do not provide information you are uncomfortable sharing.

PHOTOS, VIDEOS & SURVEILLANCE

Evidence can be important.

If you have photographs, video, surveillance-camera footage, doorbell-camera footage, vehicle information, screenshots, or other information related to an incident, please indicate that in your report.

Do not place yourself in danger to obtain additional information, photographs, video, license-plate numbers, or evidence.

Your safety comes first.

OUR PURPOSE IS TO HELP

BMOSC does not replace law enforcement.

Black Men of South Carolina is committed to helping build safer communities throughout South Carolina.

Information submitted through this system may be reviewed to determine whether BMOSC can assist with a community-safety concern or whether the information should be referred to an appropriate law-enforcement agency or other organization.

BMOSC does not investigate crimes, determine guilt, make arrests, or replace law enforcement.

We encourage everyone submitting information to be truthful, factual, and as specific as possible.

Do not use this system to intentionally submit false accusations, rumors presented as facts, threats, harassment, or information intended to harm another person.

“Protecting our communities does not mean protecting those who harm them.”

  • Our children deserve to play outside without fear.
  • Our seniors deserve to feel safe in their homes.
  • Our families deserve peaceful neighborhoods.
  • Our communities deserve people willing to stand together and say: Enough is enough.

BREAKING THE CODE OF SILENCE

Standing up for your community.

Reporting what you know is not about turning against your community. It is about standing up for your community.

One piece of information could help prevent another shooting.

One camera recording could help identify a suspect.

One description could help solve a crime.

One person willing to speak could help save another person's life.

If you know something that may help address criminal activity in your community, please complete the form below and provide as much accurate information as possible.

Do not confront a suspected offender. Do not attempt to investigate criminal activity yourself. Do not put yourself or anyone else in danger.
